Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 September 2026

5cotp is operated by FOREN PRO, SIA, Pērnavas iela 6-29, Rīga, Latvia LV-1012. EU VAT: LV40203661306.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit 5cotp.com, use an account, send one-time passwords (OTP) through the dashboard or API, or contact us.

Information we process

To provide an account, we process the information you give us during registration and account management, such as your email address, contact details and login credentials.

When you send an OTP, we process the recipient’s contact information, the information needed to create and deliver the message, and records relating to the request and its delivery. Those records may include the time of the request, its status, the delivery channel, error information and identifiers needed to investigate an issue. We also process API requests and technical information, such as IP addresses and request logs, to operate and protect the service.

If you sign in with Telegram or write to our Telegram bot @cotp5_bot, we receive your Telegram ID, name and username, and we keep the messages you send to and receive from the bot so our team can answer them. We may also use the bot to send you service announcements about 5cotp; you can stop them at any time by blocking the bot.

To prevent fraud and abuse, such as one person creating many accounts to use free trial messages, we record technical information when you sign up, sign in or link a Telegram account: IP address, browser and device details, a device identifier stored in a cookie and a browser fingerprint calculated from your browser’s characteristics. If an account is blocked for abuse, these values may be used to refuse new sign-ups from the same person; IP addresses and browser fingerprints are blocked for a limited time only. We keep this sign-up and sign-in information for 12 months; values placed on the block list stay there while the block is in force.

If you contact us, we process your message and the information needed to respond. If you pay for the service, we process billing and transaction records. Payment providers may process payment details under their own privacy policies.

Why we process information

We use this information to manage accounts; generate, send and track OTP messages requested by our customers; provide support; maintain billing records; secure the service; prevent fraud and misuse; and comply with applicable law.

Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis depends on the purpose: performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the service. We seek consent where the law requires it.

Our customers’ recipients

A customer using 5cotp to send an OTP decides which recipient to contact and why. For that recipient’s contact information and OTP request, the customer generally determines the purpose of processing, while FOREN PRO, SIA processes the information to provide the sending service. Recipients with questions about why they received a code should contact the organisation whose name appears in, or is associated with, the message.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies that are necessary for 5cotp.com to work: they keep you signed in, protect forms against cross-site request forgery, remember your cookie choice and help prevent fraud and abuse (the device identifier and browser fingerprint described above). These cookies do not require consent.

With your consent, we also use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand how 5cotp.com is used — for example, which pages are viewed and how visitors arrive at the site. Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) and processes information such as your IP address, browser and device details and the pages you visit. Google may process this information outside the European Economic Area. The legal basis is your consent.

These analytics cookies are set only if you choose “Accept” in the cookie banner. If you choose “Reject” or make no choice, Google may still receive limited signals that a page was viewed, without cookies or identifiers stored on your device. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through Cookie settings, also linked at the bottom of every page; withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before it.

Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts and page components from the jsDelivr network. These services receive your IP address in order to deliver the files.

Sharing information

We share information with service providers only as needed to operate 5cotp, including infrastructure, message delivery and payment providers. Delivery providers receive the information needed to route a message to its recipient. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users.

We do not sell recipient contact information or OTP data to data brokers.

Retention and security

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain necessary records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Retention periods depend on the type of information and the reason it is held.

We use technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, loss and misuse. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

International processing

Providing OTP delivery may involve providers in different countries. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we apply the safeguards required by applicable data protection law.

Your rights

Where applicable, you may request access to your personal data, ask for inaccurate data to be corrected, request deletion or restriction of processing, or object to certain processing. You may also have the right to data portability and to complain to a competent data protection authority.

Account holders can contact us through 5cotp.com, at product@5cotp.com, to make a request. If your request concerns an OTP sent by one of our customers, you should normally contact that customer first, as they determine why the message was sent.

Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy when our service or data practices change. The current version will be published on 5cotp.com.
